Feed The Future

Thanks to your generous support during Match it May, our nutrition program has expanded, and its impact reaches far beyond the plate.

Now, every child connected to the Heartprint Community Centre can receive a hot, nutritious meal six days a week. Since students attend Khmer School at different times, they come to Heartprint in morning, afternoon, or evening shifts—and we serve meals to match. That’s three rounds of freshly prepared food each day.

You can see the change almost instantly—a child reawakening with that first bite. These meals are more than nourishment; they’re energy for learning, strength for growing, and comfort that carries through the day. Our staff team shares in these meals too, reinforcing the sense of family that defines our centre.  These shared meals are a reminder that care and consistency and community make all the difference.

Many of our recipes are straight from the Heartprint Cookbook, with Khmer Chicken Curry the top contender for in-house favourite!  Our talented kitchen team is the best!

Nourishment isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, educational, and economic. And that’s exactly what the new Heartprint Hub will provide.

Just taking shape, the Hub will include a café, fair-trade shop, and salon, offering women the tools, training, and space to build sustainable businesses and stronger futures. We are so excited by this. You know we will always be committed to building on the promise of hope!

Many of the women in our community face incredible hardship: abusive relationships, addiction, and poverty. Yet they show up - resilient and ready - taking part in programs like Build a Future and Adult Interpersonal Skills because they believe change is possible.

The Heartprint Hub will build on that strength, giving these women something too often out of reach: Real opportunity. Solid Hope. It will be a place to learn, to earn, and to lead - right in the heart of our community.

When we feed a future, we’re not only filling plates - we are fueling potential.

But what about water?

Food, water, opportunity. These are essentials for a healthy life, and your support helps us deliver all three.

In May, we were proud to install a Clean Water System at Heartprint, thanks to the unwavering support of Disaster Aid Australia. This system transforms tap or well water into safe, drinkable water - protecting the health of every child, parent,  and staff member who walks through our doors.

Clean water is life. And with this system, we’re not just reducing illness - we are reinforcing everything our programs are built on. Commitment to greater quality of life for people in our community.

We were honoured to host Brian Ashworth, CEO of Disaster Aid, who joined us for the installation and trained our team. Together, we met with other NGOs and partners in Siem Reap to explore how to expand this access to clean water even further.

Now officially approved as Disaster Aid’s in-country partner, Heartprint will help bring clean water to schools, NGOs, and communities throughout the region.

This incredible milestone was made possible by the generosity of the Rotary Club of Greater Dandenong and Endeavour Hills. Thank you for helping us protect one of life’s most critical resources.

And - we completed installation of the FIFTH playground in Siem Reap this month!  Fuel for Joy!

Together, you help us feed the future—one meal, one opportunity, one drink of clean water  - and one playground!  - at a time.

Thank you for standing with us.

With gratitude,

The Whole Heartprint Team
