mental health support

We provide access for our community to find emotional, instrumental and informational support for mental well-being. Our history includes a horrific period when the Khmer Rouge seized power and declared "Year Zero," resulting in the deaths of 1.5 million people due to starvation, disease, or execution. Those targeted included educated professionals such as doctors, teachers, monks, and artists. A civil war followed, lasting into the early 1990s, and many individuals suffer from PTSD as a result, experiencing devastating effects. With an almost non-existent mental health infrastructure, families are left to navigate these challenges on their own.

To assist, we offer three specialized programs: All Minds Matter, Fighting the Monster, and Circle of Strength.

All Minds Matter

This program provides one-on-one counseling with qualified professionals from a partner organization. These private sessions ensure individuals can speak freely and get the mental health support they need in a confidential and compassionate setting. From trauma support to everyday emotional struggles, this space promotes healing, self-understanding, and hope.

Circle of strength

This therapeutic group supports our pre-adolescent and adolescent girls, providing them with a safe space to navigate the emotional and physical changes of puberty. Living in poverty brings unique pressures and challenges; Circle of Strength offers coping strategies, peer support, and emotional tools to help these girls grow with confidence and resilience.

Fighting the Monster

When children live in homes affected by addiction, domestic violence, or other challenges, escaping those situations isn’t always possible—especially when their entire family shares a single room. Our program equips children with practical coping skills and mindfulness tools to help them navigate these difficulties, build resilience, and strengthen their emotional wellbeing.
