Play it Forward

Australian-founded non-profit, Heartprint and Rotary Peninsula 2.0 have announced an innovative partnership to deliver playgrounds from Australian communities to disadvantaged areas in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The initiative called, Play It Forward, aims to give underprivileged children access to safe and imaginative spaces for play.

As the first Australian-founded NGO to implement such a project in Cambodia, Heartprint’s mission is clear: to repurpose and refurbish decommissioned playgrounds that would otherwise be sent to landfill, and relocate them to communities in need in Cambodia.

The playgrounds are officially dismantled and prepared for transport in Australia by the Rotary Overseas Recycled Playgrounds [RORP] project. Upon arrival in Cambodia, Heartprint will oversee their reinstallation and ensure they are ready for use.

EVERYONE DESERVES A PLACE TO PLAY

A playground is more than just a slide, a ladder, or a swing. It is a gateway to adventure, a place where, even for just 10 minutes, one can escape the pressures of daily life. For a child living in a place like Cambodia, this may be the only time they get to feel free to be whoever or whatever they want to be..” - Garry O’Brien, Co-Founder of Heartprint.

Heartprint and Rotary Peninsula 2.0 are committed to changing lives through sustainable solutions, and Play It Forward represents a significant step towards creating meaningful impact for the children in Cambodia.

You can help us to install playgrounds in Cambodia by contributing to the installation costs. The cost to install a playground is US$1000 which includes refurbishment, in country transportation and installation. This can be donated through the website donate button.
